Client Aspirations
To create a contemporary riverside home that felt calm, private and deeply connected to the water
Challenges
The riverbank setting, mature trees and ground conditions required careful positioning. The house needed to open fully to the water while remaining sheltered and visually restrained within the landscape.
Our Response
The design is shaped by the river and its surrounding ecology. A rammed earth finish gives the walls a monolithic, earthy quality that echoes the tones and textures of the riverbank, helping the house feel grounded within its setting. The home is formed as a series of sculpted volumes that step with the landscape, opening towards the water through deep terraces and expansive glazing. A corten-clad entrance introduces warmth and contrast within the natural palette. The result is a calm, contemporary house that sits quietly within the riverside landscape.
